I have been looking for a classical CD for a little while with no luck.

By chance I found this great German 2CD set from 1986 in my local used CD store:

    CD1:
    Dvořák
Slawische Tänze (Slavonic Dances) op.46 Nr. 1-8
Slawische Rhasodien (Slavonic Rhapsodies) op. 45 Nr. 2 & 3

    CD2:
Böhmische Suite (Czech Suite) op. 39
Die Waldtaube (The Wood Dove) op. 110

    Brahms
    Ungarische Tänze (Hungarian Dances)

    Conducted by Vàclav Neumann

    Teldec 8.48270

I love it so much that I would dearly love to find the companion CD that has Slawische Rhapsodien (Slavonic Rhapsody) op. 45 Nr. 1 on it!

From what I've found out I think it was on the single CD with this catalogue number:

Teldec 8.42203 (released in Germany circa 1986)

If anyone can help me locate a copy I would be very grateful!

It looks like I can get the same Neumann 1972 recording of op 45 Nr. 1 on a modern release which has all three Rhapsodies but I'd really like to get the original CD to complement my other 2CD set as it has the other Slavonic Dances too by the look of it.

The LP cover is shown below - I assume the CD has the same cover but maybe not.

Thanks in advance for any help sourcing this disc :righton:

    Hi,

I will talk to Ingrid and see if she has a spare copy. She had all of the Telefunken Classical Compact Discs. They are in storage in Norway!

    Hi Mal,

We sent for a copy of this. Turns out Ingrid doesn't have one herself. This was a limited release licensed from Supraphon Records in the Czech Republic. We talked to the record librarian at the NRK (Norway Broadcasting Network) and they only have vinyl of this on Supraphon. Sorry, we couldn't be of any help. There may be a Supraphon CD of this extant.

Thanks for trying Kent - sounds like it's going to be a hard one to track down :sigh:
