Well, I take issue with a couple of things here (oh, oh, my prose is sounding very Luke-like tonight.)

One is this quote:

"When it comes to archival material the disc is a very robust medium," says Addey. "I mean, we get tapes that were recorded in the 1950s and 1960s where the adhesive on the splices has dried up, and as we're winding the tape back they'll fly all over the place."

C'mon now! It is rule number one when rewinding or fast forwarding old tapes that it must be done with great care, because the glue is usually dried out and splices and edits will no longer be joined.

NO ONE HAS ANY BUSINESS FAST WINDING A REEL LIKE THIS SO THE SPLICES WILL FLY ALL OVER THE PLACE.

Sheesh.

The other thing is this:

It is a common fact that the Capitol 16" discs were stored so badly that most of them are useless. Imagine stacking discs in big piles on TOP of each other for years. You think the ones on the bottom will be any good? Doubt it.

Other than that, interesting, but very "disc mastering 101"....

Good try. You get points for starting your post with "Well" (a sly nod to Luke's love of the Reagan administration) and for using a colon and enumerating points. However, I must dock you for putting an extra period in your ellipsis. You also failed to mentioned "MBBB" and use "Eh."

LOL!

That was hilarious! I really DO enjoy each and every one of Luke's messages. Honest! They help to make this board as informative and entertaining as it is. But I must say, Patrick's message really distilled it down to some of Luke's finer points! I could definitely hear a tongue securly wedged in cheek on that one!

Dave, if I really wanted to slam the neighbors, I'd be bashing those damn Canadians.

Well Patrick at least we can produce awesome hockey players without selling our asses to get them, not like some countries I know of.
