Wow - only two from his last album...nothing from Plus Signs? Just 5 songs total from his solo career, 13 from The Guess Who catalog? Dude used to brag about having about 600 songs written and never recorded...I hope he gets a few of those down on tape while he's going out this time around...

My friend was telling me a couple months ago he was engineering Cummings redoing some of his hits. I guess it must have been the new live album he was talking about.
I guess the live album is somewhat "embellished" with studio overdubs. Unless there
was a second project where Cummings was recording old hits. Which seems unlikely.

  5. I wish that there was a more even selection of GW vs solo tracks but am pretty happy that there are two tunes from the most recent album.

I don't think he's done anything from PLUS SIGNS in years...unfortunately.

I see from the setlist he did "clap for the wolfman"...but he was not in that incarnation of the group, was he?

  7. He was in every incarnation of the group that had any hits.

He cowrote the song with Kurt Winter, and Bill Wallace.
The album Road Food was released in 1974.
Burton didn't leave the Guess Who until 1975.

did Burton sing lead on clap for the wolfman? I was thinking he did not, but since I was wrong about him being out of the group then, I'm probably wrong on the other point

That one was on Capitol...wonder if that business relationship has anything to do with it...probably just that there's so many home-runs to choose from, why make a place in the setlist for a "foul ball"...

Just some minor fixes I'm sure, BC is very solid live.

That's Burton's unmistakable voice on Clap For The Wolfman.

  13. How many hit songs did they have that Burton did not sing lead on while he was a member????

    NONE.

As noted above, $12.99 at Amazon.ca for us non-Canucks. Prohibitive shipping charge, though. I used an alternative seller.

It obviously is "mistakeable" for some :)

That set list is great except I can do without further exposure to Stand Tall.

For me, it meant the total was still cheaper than Amazon US, even with Prime, but who knew DHL was going to deliver within 48 hours ? Worth every penny of my $24.10 investment.

    Burton Cummings Live Massey Hall

Just released in Canada. Pretty damn good sounding live recording by Burton and the Carpet Frogs. His vocal chops are as good as ever.
