I just got word that the metalwork was damaged. I am going to AcousTech Mastering tomorrow to recut both sides of the LP with Kevin.

(Poop, we have to go through all that all over again!):sigh:

So, obviously there will be a delay in the release of this Warner Bros./Rhino 180 gram LP title. Be glad that this isn't the old days of vinyl; they would have just recut the thing using an EQ dub without us! :)

So, sorry again for the delay on this one but these things happen. I know many of you have been waiting since 2006. Heh, what's a few more weeks?

    That explains the delays then.

Are you going to rethink this one Steve, or could you master this one in your sleep because you're doing it again?

    Arrrgh!

    :)

Thanks for the update. Maybe they can rush this one through.... :D

And let you cut a few more Van titles to compensate.

Stop laughing. It's my dream and I'm sticking to it!

In my sleep? No, I pulled out my notes and was shocked (three pages of little cramped writing with wiggly crossouts, erasures, symbols etc.) It was a difficult job but we nailed it and it can be done again. I'm going to lower the first song on side one by 1/2 db though (not that you care).:)

Tell Acoustech to buy the janitors a proper doorstop so this doesn't happen again. :)

Steve, thanks. Can you say what was done for this release regarding the two mixes of "Into the Mystic"?

Oh, yeah, that was all your fault (your can of worms).;)

We are using the correct "tambourine" mix, the version that was intended to be on the album.

Too bad you couldn't do a 12" single as well, with both versions...

We cut a 45 RPM version of the album for "in house" use and could have fit it on there I guess but they didn't really care.:)

Well, there you go, a second chance. I think you had a similar revelation on the Donovan SACD with "Mellow Yellow" that you might have changed given the chance, correct?

Geez, how do you remember such stuff? You're right, I would have lowered MELLOW YELLOW by a db..

    Thanks for keeping us informed.

My wallet is thankful for the delay though (what with the Blue Note LPs, SACDs, Audio Fidelity titles coming...)

It's a good thing I love that album. Today will not be fun.

Actually, there are some records that I can hear a zillion times and never get tired of them. MOONDANCE is in that list.

I've actually yet to buy a copy of the album, but I've heard many tracks off of it already and I'm highly anticipating this release (which I will buy).

I don't mind the delay. The announcement "way back when" that Moondance was to be reissued inspired me to get my turntable up and running. I'm very grateful for that.

Thanks for letting us know, Steve. Glad to hear it was just a technical problem and not legal issues.

Still very excited about this release!
