  1. Don't know if these EMI/Fame McCartney CDs are considered rare, however, I'm guessing they are not easy to find these days.

Now if I could only find a Thrillington to complete the collection. :sigh:

Hi. Don't know if there're rare. But I have :
    - Bowie - Hours... with holographic cover
    - David Usher - Morning Orbit with holographic cover
    - The Smashing Pumpkins - Still Becoming Apart
    - Dark Side of the Moon (EMI Records remastered reissue) [EU release] with new artwork of prism refracting light.
    - Anglagard - epilog
    - Genesis - Spot The Pigeon
    - Genesis - Tresspass (Nederland remastered)
    - Gentle Giant - In A Glass House with half of the artwork print on the jewel box
    - KMFDM - Naive (orange original pressing with Carmina Burina sampling)
    - KMFDM - retro (compilation for radio station)
    - Pearl Jam - Merkinball

And all the out-of-print CDs like Richard Wright - Wet Dream or some The Residents.

And of course, local music (Quebec, Canada) like Pangee - Hymnemonde or Pollen

  3. Wasn't aware that this next CD was rare until I read a comment, IIRC, from Keith recently. Picked up the Carly Simon disc thru a good friend, used in 2007 for around $8.

Chris, I don't recall where I said that, but I wonder if I was referring to the very rare variation with the colors reversed (i.e., orange target and silver paint coating). Regardless, the standard version, like the one you showed, is still tough to track down.

I've been looking for a target pressing of this. Does it say made or printed in W. Germany anywhere on the back of the CD? Stores like FYE reseal all the used CD's so you can't tell what's a target and what's not sometimes.

posted on the other thread but no pic.

rare Blue Ring cover of Queensryche - Rage for Order.

not so much the cd but the booklet for the cd. :D

info straight from the official Queensryche site! :righton:

"The blue ringed cover was the first issue to be released by EMI. It's widely found in album format, however some CDs do exist. In fact, if you have a blue ringed CD, consider yourself very lucky! Only a few hundred of these exits and are quite valuable. A few months after it's initial release, EMI canned the cover and went for the more widely accepted (and viewable) gold ring cover."

Here are three rare Split Enz CDs, all on A&M:

    1. True Colors - A&M Japan, PCCY-10050. This one's notable for having the purple/yellow color scheme on the cover, instead of the more common red/green of the US A&M CD. It came out about 1990, and I don't think it stayed in print nearly as long as the US version.

    2. Conflicting Emotions - Japan for US, A&M CD 4963 / PCN DIDX 36. I believe there was probably only the initial pressing. I bought this upon its release, and I've only ever seen one other copy.

    3. Time and Tide - A&M Japan, D32Y 3585.
