  10. Amazing! Thank you so much for the chance to win this, let alone the actual winning part!

Thanks to Ron and Joe at MusicMatters, and Kevin and Steve for making this test pressing available!

  20. Amazing, brilliant, spectacular! I received the LPs today, and am amazed at how 'IN THE ROOM' they sound. Now I am closer to knowing why so many people are bitterly disappointed with many of the RVG CD reissues, because this has to be the best I have ever heard any Blue Note album sound (I have about 30 if you include the Blue Note Mosaic Selects).

Thanks again to Ron, Joe, Steve and Kevin. I knew these LPs would sound good, but I didn't know they could sound this good. Even the piano sounds excellent, the horn has the IN THE ROOM quality that we all know and love.

I hope no one minds me providing a short 1 minute MP3 sample from the first track - Blue Moon. I feel kind of guilty that me winning this meant nobody else could!

Try here (copy the 3 letters into the box, then click Download), or here if the first link doesn't work. The file is only 1.1 MB.

Here's one of the discs on top of my Blue Note t-shirt that my sister gave me last year.

Sounds great. That sax is THERE! Thanks for posting that and btw, Congrats!

  22. I'm glad you like it!

It's a flat transfer from my entry level Project Debut III, into a $125 phono pre-amp, then into my PC via USB. No tweaking filtering etc.

I hope this short sample makes people with low end turntables feel confident that they can get a brilliant sound off these 45 RPM LPs.

    Damn!

I finally received my shipment from JPC.de, and it includes the Classic Records 200g pressing of the same title, although I was certain to have ordered the Music Matters release. Their catalogue entry is a mix of the two releases: http://www.jpc.de/jpcng/jazz/detail/-/hnum/6662176

What preamp did you use? Does it have a USB connection?

I'm always trying to find a better way to transfer vinyl to my PC..
