That makes no sense as the TW's had the Jeff Lynne sound all over them.

As was mentioned earlier in the thread, Jeff Lynne has remixed the track, but it's actually more like 'reworked' I'm afraid.

There are electric guitars and horns not heard previously - true they could've been part of the original recordings and just mixed down low, but the main change is the removal of the lead acoustic guitars and Dylan's harmonica from the track, replaced by Lynne playing a clavoline similar to the original Del Shannon recording.

Now, on most Wilbury songs we know the acoustic guitars are played by most if not all of them. You can however from the overdubs & vocals also hear most of them participating in one way or another, but by removing Bob's harmonica from Runaway, it's hard to hear anyone else but Jeff on that track now.

It does make sense, because the issue isn't the "Jeff Lynne Sound," it's the removal of orignal Wilbury performances from the track and the addition of new Lynne overdubs.

This used CD shop here was selling the original issue Wilburys CD's for $40 each....they've been on the shelf a long time. Now, mysteriously, the price has dropped to $15 each!

As far as we know; I can't imagine them messing with the original LP tracks...

I was just handed a promo copy of this today at work and am listening to it right now. I have to admit, it is a bit strange to NOT see Bill Inglot's name associated with a Rhino set of this magnitude...

Here is a neat pic from the disc booklet!

Great shot - looks like a still from the video shoot for Handle with Care?

Who does the promo copy credit with handling mastering duties?

I saw a copies of volumes 1 and 3 in a used cd store near me for $8 each about a week ago. I couldn't resist grabbing them as I didn't have CD copies.

And it says "Usually ships in 1-2 days" also so I'm guessing they have it in stock.

I thought Amazon was going to be the only vendor. Doesn't matter, I ordered thru Amazon. It was $10 cheaper than CD Universe anyway.

Got my copy from a Paris store. It was a US import.

Vol. 1 and 3 were the two only albums with significant Dylan content that I didn't have. So, after 14 years, I've completed my collection...

I preordered the deluxe edition from www.blahdvd.com, and have had the same problem - my order has been automatically cancelled, though I was not informed of the reason.

    FYI...

The deluxe version is only 24.99 on Amazon. Just a dollar move than the regular version.

Yeah -- I just had to cancel my Amazon order for it (it was still saying $29.99) and re-order the $24.99 version. I used the savings to upgrade the shipping!
