The Fantastic Baggys
The Fantastic Baggys were studio musicians and writers Steve Barri & P.F. Sloan.
I have the original "Legends of Rock & Roill" CD reissue of their only album "Tell 'em I'm Surfin'" produced by Ron Furmanek with 21 tracks. Great sound! There's a new 28 track compilation on Sundazed titled "Anywhere The Girls Are" http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=music Not sure if it uses Ron's superb remixes but the tracks are great. They were Jan & Dean's backup singers on several albums. It took me a long time to realize that ISN'T Dean singing falsetto on the into to "Little Old Lady From Pasadena". Anyone get the new Sundazed CD? Tell us how it sounds. Tim |

You know, the Ron Furmanek Cd is a great booster Cd for remixing.
Have you ever heard the original 1964 Liberty Lp or cassette? HORRIBLE. No highs, no low end. Whoever mixed that back in 1964 was probably drunk at the time. Then, you pop in Rons remixed Cd, and the bass drum on "Anywhere The Girls Are" kicks in and its in your face. Rons Cd is like a 1,000 % difference. I gave away the Liberty Lp, there was no way I was gonna play that again after hearing Rons Cd. By the way, The Fantastic Baggies stuff is FUN music. Why cant music be fun like this nowadays?? |
