Promotional video for the book on YouTube. Pete says that he will have some "brutal comments" about the Who's music.

I wasn't expecting much with Keith Richard's book, and it turned out great IMO. Townshend's book may be too long, or in multiple releases, but I'll be patiently waiting for it's debut.

I believe Pete is a very neurotic guy, and that he means what he says at that point in time. But his viewpoint could change the following day.

Things have changed at the last minute before re: touring/shows, but word has been fairly recently that there was supposed to be a Quad tour with Pete, Roger, and the touring band sometime the end of this year.

The latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine (with Adele) on the cover, has a nice length excerpt preview of the book in it as well as a review of the book itself.

And remix some of the 5.1 tracks already released on that sample disc. Some sound great, others... not so much!

I hope the stacking of Marshall amps is a typo as well as I believe that was initially Entwistle's idea so he could compete with Townshend's volume onstage.

He had been smashing guitars since at least 1965.

That Pete Townshend invented the Marshall stack must be news to Jim Marshall. That Townshend invented the concept album must be news to Frank Sinatra and the Pretty Things, among others.

I believe he was on STP, not LSD, when that happened.

That must be news to Bob Dylan, Ray Davies, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, and Morrissey, among others.

    Driver 8,
In the excerpt that I read, Pete said it was LSD. This part was pretty fascinating. His description of what he saw was really something. He also heard a woman's voice who was not Karen.

The previous books I've read always described it as STP, which was supposed to be even more of a head trip than LSD. I suppose, however, that it doesn't really matter which psychedelic drug he was on at the time.

Pete must have a calendar that tells him to say something stupid to get press every 6 months. Did we really need to know this?

The Who's Pete Townshend: 'Mick Jagger's the only man I've ever wanted to ****'

Rocker reveals his lust for Rolling Stones frontman in autobiography 'Who I Am'

The Who's Pete Townshend has revealed that Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger is the only man he's "seriously wanted to ****".

In an excerpt from his forthcoming autobiography Who I Am, the legendary guitarist admitted lusting after his fellow rocker and also refuted stingy allegations made by the likes of Stones' guitarist Keith Richards about the size of the singer's manhood.

Townshend, who has been writing the memoir for 15 years, says:

Mick is the only man I've ever seriously wanted to ****.

He also described Jagger's ***** as "long and plump" and insisted the singer was "very well endowed", echoing comments he had made about the frontman's member being "huge and extremely tasty". His description, however contradicts less complimentary claims made by Richards in his million-selling autobiography Life which reportedly led to a rift between the pair.

Who I Am will be published on October 11 by Harper Collins. The book will share details of Townshend's "incredible life and elaborates on the turbulences of time spent as one of the world’s most respected musicians – being in one of rock’s greatest ever bands, and wanting to give it all up".

It was during the writing of the book in 2003 that Townshend was cautioned by police for accessing child pornography on the internet. When questioned by police about the material he cited researching for the book as his reason for doing so.

He said at the time: "I believe I was sexually abused between the age of five and six and a half when in the care of my maternal grandmother who was mentally ill at the time. Some of the things I have seen on the internet have informed my book."

He added: "If I have any compulsions in this area, they are to face what is happening to young children in the world today and to try to deal openly with my anger and vengeance toward the mentally ill people who find paedophilic pornography attractive."

The Who recently performed at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, playing the band's hits 'Baba O'Riley' as well as 'See Me, Feel Me'/'Listening To You' and 'My Generation'.

I suspect that Pete has done more than just want to **** other men.
