Each system has its own merits. The living room is for when I want to sit down and really listen to music. The dining room is for "house" music while I'm on the computer or doing stuff around the house. The den is for home theater. What you don't see is the Danley Sound Labs DTS10 behind the curtain. The sun room for sitting with a cup of coffee and relaxing and for older vinyl I won't play on my Clearaudio rig. The guest room is low power full range that has its own magic.

Bottom line it is all for having fun. I consider myself a music enthusiast and not an audiophile. I don't take it to serious. So, while something are not optimum for some, they work quite well for me.

Take in consideration, when I have audio get togethers. It is a day of trying different systems, listening to a lot of music, eating and drinking. Kind of a lost boys weekend.

If I was an overnight guest in Wardsweb's guest room, no one in the house would get any sleep.

There are many roads to audio nirvana. While the ultimate goal may be the destination, don't forget to enjoy the ride.

Wardsweb, I am confused. Clearly you have the funds and the physical space needed, so, why not acoustically treat at least one room and place the speakers appropriately?

"Serenity come not from what you have but knowing what you can live without."

I have said before, I don't take this so serious as to be considered an audiophile. I just have fun.

And yes, my wife does get a few considerations.

There's integrating a system with your room, and then there's integrating a system with your home. The two don't always cooperate, and integrating with the home usually takes precedence, unless you live alone.

I may have posted this at some point in one of the earlier threads but there have been some changes to the room since and this is a summer view-I believe the last was a winter view:).
