Your selections can include both performance & production, individuals & bands, male & female, young & old, rock & hip-hop and so on...

I'll keep mine simple: Joe Satriani & Steve Vai...

    What say you?

    Cheers,
    Dan

  2. Shawn Colvin and Mary Chapin Carpenter

They've talked about doing an album together for years, but now they're not on the same label anymore it's unlikely to happen.

I'd love to see Eric Clapton & Jeff Beck make an album together, hopefully it'd keep EC away from the more pop oriented stuff & Jeff away from the full on Jazz type instrumentals, the results would be interesting to say the least.

  6. Maybe impossible works?

    Miles and Hendrix
    or
    Hendrix and Miles?

An epic, sprawling orchestral guitar suite in multiple intermingling parts by Lindsey Buckingham and Van Dyke Parks.

A recent choice; Thomas Walsh/Pugwash with Jeff Lynne. It could be a great album with loads of mellotrons, orchestras and beautiful melodies!
A World Music Choice: Paco de Lucia with Renaud Garcia Fons; the world's best guitar- and upright-bass-player united!

It would have been cool for Stuart Copeland and Eddie Vanhalen to record together back in the 80`s
If I could add a 3rd it would be john paul Jones on bass.

Gary Numan and Nine Inch Nails. Best part? Apparently it's going to happen!

Maybe Muse and Radiohead, just for the weirdness factor (the two sometimes get compared). I could probably go all day with interesting combinations. Good topic to ponder while you drift off in a boring class or meeting!

Bowie and Jeff Beck(in lieu of Ronson)

Jackson Brothers and Quincy(better 2 decades ago)

Buckingham and Nicks (without the classic rhythm section. Reissue the 70's duet albums and tour theaters doing deep catalogue)

    Copeland/Summers/Sumner

    Stevie Wonder and Jeff Beck

Jimmy Page and his ANYTHING new from his guitar.

John Fogerty and THAT rhythm section. They dont have to be int he same room

Dick Dale with an electronic music pioneer guy

I'm STILL waiting for the Vince Gill instrumental album.

    Bowie and an orchestra

Somethingm from Scott Walker and his 2 "brothers" while everyone is still alive.

    Yep, ain't them underrated?

I'd like Neil Young to make an album with Weezer. I don't know why.

Almost happened, but not quite. Could have thrown in James Brown or Sly for good measure.

I'll go for Cecil Taylor and Ornette Coleman. Again, rumored almost to have happened back in the late 70's early 80's. Probably never will.

  24. John Frusciante & Cat Power with ?Love on drums.

Some twenty years ago before his voice aged, Bryan Ferry, with Robert Fripp in a full collaboration from songwriting to recording, leaving the production to a wide-eyed and experimental Brian Eno.

The Bowie and Fripp recordings turned out rather well... how about a full album?
