Thought we should get started with a thread on the upcoming 6th Season/Series of 24. Gonna be tough to beat Season/Series 5. Let's hope it's equally as good. From what I've read and seen so far, it looks like another total adrenalin rush.

There is a ***SPOILER*** or two in this first post. Careful.

Found some information at Wikipedia.

The sixth season, also known as Day 6, of the television series 24 is currently in production, and will premiere on Sunday, January 14, and on Monday, January 15, 2007, with a two-night, four-hour season premiere. Series 6 of 24 will air in the United Kingdom one week after the US premiere. Good news for our U.K. members.
______________________

At the end of the fifth season, after having spent the intervening eighteen months in hiding, Jack was captured by the Chinese and was last seen imprisoned on a Shanghai registered container ship. Jack's girlfriend Audrey Raines notices his disappearance and reports it to CTU.

President Charles Logan has been arrested by federal marshals on the orders of the Attorney General and Vice President Hal Gardner due to a recorded confession in which Logan admitted to his wife, Martha, his involvement with a conspiracy to sell nerve gas to terrorists. Logan will either resign or face impeachment and most likely criminal charges.

Has anyone seen the 10 minute prequel to Season/Series 6 on the Season 5 DVD set?

You can view an extended trailer for Season 6 at FOX, http://www.24trailer.com/.

Stars

Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer
Mary Lynn Rajskub as Chloe O'Brian
D.B. Woodside as Wayne Palmer
James Morrison as Bill Buchanan
Jayne Atkinson as Karen Hayes
______________________________

Confirmed to return in a recurring status or as guest stars:

Gregory Itzin as Charles Logan (At the Emmy Awards Itzen said he may be around in episodes 9 or 10 as they need information from him)
Jean Smart as Martha Logan
Glenn Morshower as Aaron Pierce
Kim Raver as Audrey Raines
Roger Cross as Curtis Manning
Paul McCrane as Graham
Tzi Ma as Cheng Zhi
William Devane as James Heller

Elisha Cuthbert (Kim Bauer) will not appear early on in the season, as she has yet to be called, but refuses to rule out a return.
________________________________

Notable new cast members this year include:

Carlo Rota as Morris O'Brian (some relation to Chloe?)
Eric Balfour as Milo Pressman
Marisol Nichols as Nadia Yassir
Regina King as Sandra Palmer (sister to the Palmer brothers)
Peter MacNicol as Thomas Lennox

Yes Peter "John Cage" MacNicol does double duty this TV season. He is of course also on the CBS FBI drama Numbers as nerdy physicist/professor Dr. Larry Fleinhardt.

James Cromwell as Phillip Bauer, Jack Bauer's estranged father

Alexander Sadig as Hamri Al-Assad. (Think he's the main bad guy this year.) Sadig was most recently seen in the movies The Nativity Story as the Angel Gabriel and in the George Clooney film Syriana as Prince Nasir Al-Subaai. Sadig was also Doctor Bashir on Star Trek - Deep Space Nine.

Chad Lowe as Reed Pollock, a savvy political operator based in the White House.

Powers Boothe as U.S. Vice President Noah Daniels

Rick Schroder as CTU operative Mike Doyle

David Hunt as Darren McCarthy, a villainous accomplice
The role was originally given to Eddie Izard, but Izard was replaced after 1 day of shooting due to scheduling conflicts.

No mention of Jude Ciccolella as Mike Novick. Guess the character has been written out.

We find out more about Paul McCrane's character Graham ("Blue Tooth Mafia") this year. We meet his family, wife and kid. In a new 15-second spot shown on FOX, Jack is shown choking Graham. Graham says, in pain, "You're hurting me." Jack responds with "Trust me, I'm not." Way to go Jack!

If you don't know already, D.B. Woodside, Wayne Palmer is now the President. :)

Kiefer Sutherland said in a recent interview that: "We've had five years of [Jack Bauer] saving a large thing; this one's much more about him saving his own ***. He'll go from being the one who hunts people down to the one who's being hunted, so that in itself turns the show around."

How could they not get Donald Sutherland as Jack's dad? If there's one project where he should play Kiefer's father it's 24.

Carlo Rota as Morris O'Brian (some relation to Chloe?)...His character is Chloe's ex-husband. He appeared in the last two episodes of Season Five, so he is not entirely new.

This is the one and only show that has captivated me for the past five years. I've yet to miss a single episode and don't plan on starting a trent this year.

Still, I wonder how they can cram an entire season into one 24-hour day this year? 24 hours won't get Jack more than a 100 miles out to sea. :)

With the same unapologetic disregard for the laws of time and space that they did on the other seasons!

Is that like the same unapologetic disregard for reality and human nature that garbage like Friends showed for all those painful years?

OK, so how would you rate the season, as far as you've seen, relative to previous seasons? You should be able to disclose that without too many spoilers...

Is Jack really going to be up for 24 hours of running, yelling and shooting moments after being released from a Chinese prison? Then again, he died in the middle of one season and that didn't stop him.

I don't read about 24 before it airs, so I'll look for an answer to this in the pages that follow this post: Is the prequel anything more than just scenes we're going to see in Season 6?

Yes, but is it anything that will not be seen in the broadcast?
