As someone who graduated H.S. in 1982 I always loved some of the "classic" rock of ELP,Floyd,Yes etc. but also enjoyed much of the Power Pop/New Wave/Alternative bands from the late 70's thru the early 90's.I feel this is the most overlooked under represented music when it comes to "classic" albums for remastering so here are a few albums I think really deserved better treatment on cd and should be first ones considered for the new hi-rez formats:

)REM-all their albums originally released on I.R.S. (a label who has since gone out of print)

)Nick Lowe-Jesus of Cool (aka Pure Pop For Now People) and Labour of Lust-Both albums currently unavailable in the U.S.

)Rockpile-Seconds of Pleasure I heard Sony was supposed to released a remastered/expanded version of this album next year but never did.

)The Replacements-Tim and Pleased To Meet Me- both these albums have really grown on the critics and public alike over the years

)The Pretenders-The Pretenders I hear Warners/Rhino are working on a Pretenders box set for '02.They should really release this album in its entirety on DVD-A

)The Police-Outlandos D' Amour and Regatta D' Blanc -first versions of these albums on cd sounded horrible-remasters sounded slightly less horrible.both albums deserve the 24 bit treatment for cd or SACD or DVD-A

)Simple Minds-New Gold Dream and Sparkle In The Rain-these albums sound horrible on cd with some songs shortened compared to the vinyl versions!

)INXS-Shabooh,Shoobah and Listen Like Thieves- great albums which contain great songs not on the new compilation

)Massive Attack-Blue Lines a well recorded groundbreaking album from '91.never the less could benefit greatly from a new remastering.

Here's a second vote for Shaboo Shabah. It's one of my favorite records.
