Gorts, if this post is against forum rules for any reason, please axe it.

The husband of late actress/director Adrienne Shelly has set up a foundation in her name to assist women who want to pursue film making.

Should anyone feel interested, here is the info....

In memory of his wife, actress/filmmaker Adrienne Shelly, Andy Ostroy has established a nonprofit foundation. Ostroy is chairman/CEO of New York-based list services firm Belardi/Ostroy ALC.

The Adrienne Shelly Foundation will help women pursue filmmaking, in part by establishing a Women's Filmmaking Scholarship Fund.

Shelly was killed on Nov. 1.

Those wanting to contribute can send checks to Belardi/Ostroy ALC, 16 W. 22nd St., 11th Floor, New York, NY 10010. Checks should be made out to The Adrienne Shelly Foundation and postdated Dec. 15, as the legal status of the foundation has not yet been finalized.

There's an article about her and her new film in this week's Observer(UK) newspaper.

Thanks for that, mate. I had an improv class with Adrienne back in the late 80's/early 90's. She probably forgot who I was was but she left an impression and it broke my heart when she was murdered.

I do have a piece of her though. When we were at school, she had just gotten done filming 'The Unbelievable Truth'. She was going out west for a premier and I said to her off handedly, 'Send me a postcard'.

When she got back, she handed me a little red envelope and apologised for not sending me a postcard. In it was an unused ticket for The Unbelievable Truth. She had written a little signed note saying that she was sorry for not sending the postcard and thought that I might like the ticket instead.

I sure as hell did. Still got it.
