I've always loved that type of skinny legs that was popular on furniture back then. Reminds me of Sparky, the vintage Silvertone B&W TV set that my folks still have.
No more spark now, though. Someday I should try to find another picture tube for it...

That reminds me so much of my parents when I was knee high to a grasshopper :)
My best friends father has a pair of those Tannoys - last time I went up visiting years ago he told me I could have his old Garrard 301 he has in storage :D
All the best - Andrew

Steve,
An audiophile buddy of mine has a couple of old JBL floor standing console speakers from the the 60's that he has retrofitted with (2) 15" woofers and the other updated speakers. He drives them with (strapped to Mono) Harmon-Hardon amps yielding 1200 solid state watts per side. These speakers yield the best sound I have either heard. Let's just say, I have never heard the amps clip!
Thanks for posting the link!
Bob:)

Ever notice when there's a thread of this nature, more often than not the same guy starts it?:) Can't imagine why, what a hunk of junk....NOT!:D
My god, what a brilliantly conceived site, the photos so vivid almost like You Are There...in the room(don't we all wish!). And with text to explain everything so thoroughly....a vintage equipment buff's dream come true. Well, next to owning some of the stuff in the photos, I mean...
Thanks for another great tour, Steve.

Gee Steve if you keep this up you're going to convert my wife yet.:D She really likes the ElectroVoice Patricia IV. She says "Hey that's practical. You can put things on top."

Hi Steve,
Pretty neat cabinet designs.
I'm curious are corner speakers normally ported?
