IM NOT SURE ABOUT GEETING USED MFSL OR DCC VINYL OFF OF EBAY. I'D LIKE TO ASK THIS QUESTION TO ALL MEMBERS. I NOTICE THAT MASS PRODUCTION VINYL LPS TEND TO SOUND BAD ON THE INSIDE TRACKS AFTER THEY ARE PLAYED (THEY GET DOWN RIGHT RASPY)WHILE THE OUTSIDE TRACKS DONT DEVELOP THIS PROBLEM. I WANNA KNOW IF THIS PROBLEM SHOWS UP ON THE VIRGIN VINYL LPS AFTER THEY ARE PLAYED FOR A WHILE. I GUESS THE GROOVE WALLS GET STECHED ON THE POOR VINYL DO TO THE SLOWER MOVEMENT OF THE LPS INSIDE TRACKS.

Hi Rodney,
First, welcome to the board!
Second, please don't use all caps. It is the internet equivilant of shouting.
Third, On one of the links on the main page of this site, there is an article on cutting vinyl.

Distortion on the inner grooves is usually attrributed to cartridge misalignment or over cut records. As a rule, loud inner groove passages do not sound as clean as the outer grooves, that's the nature of the beast. But a well set-up turntable will lessen the contrast. The original Mo-Fi LP's were often cut at a lower volume so the music stayed as far away from the inner label area as possible (larger lead-out groove area) and there was less chance of mistracking due to the record being cut too hot.
