I own a pair of Wilson Audio's Watt/Puppy 5.1, but the new model 7 is amazing. It's my all-time favorite speaker system...

I love my Sonus faber Guarneris and they have a very high WAF - another speaker that I foundd amazing was the JM Labs Grande Utopia - but these are way too big for my house. It just shows though Claus that it's different strokes and all that because Wilson speakers just don't do anything for me - hope Santa brings you your favo(u)rite soon :)

All the best - Andrew

I have a fondness for my Tangent RS8's.

As for new stuff, I'm out of the loop. I like it that way... less stress....;)

I am also happy with my old Apogee Caliper Signatures, but they need very much open space around them. I really wonder how these new tiny Dynaudio Anniversary Speakers sound... But: no money, no funny... ;-)

Greetings
Thomas

I agree. I've been using the same speakers for almost 10 years now and they still get me excited. I think it's whatever you're used to. I know my speakers very well and when I try to switch I always come away disappointed.

May I drool?

An old mentor of mine had a pair of Puppy 2's (I think it was)... Got them when "Mr. Wilson" used to come to your house and tell you where to put them.

I love my Maggie 1.6QRs. The first time I heard them in the dealer's showroom, I thought I had died and went to heaven. Then the salesman tells me that there is an even better, albeit more expensive model (the 3.6) if I would like to hear it. My reply: "Absolutely Not!"

I have been really happy/impressed with my Castle Acoustics: Conway II's. I haven't yet found, not that I'm looking, another that delivers the mid-range so sweetly although I'd sure like to give those Watt Puppies a try though.

Although I don't own any...yet, my favorite speaker so far, that I've gotten to listen to in person, would be the Martin Logan Quest's. I worked at a store where we sold them and got to play with them and dream for hours. Their transparency, detail and soundstaging are jaw dropping. While many have said that the electrostats don't do well on hard rock/metal (which I listen to almost exclusively), I didn't find that to be the case at all. They can kick out some serious bass when setup properly, in my experience, although they are indeed quite sensitive to placement issues to get setup properly.

On the downside, I found them to be so incredibly revealing that any minor flaw in the recording you're playinig stands out like a sore thumb. My listening skills weren't the most sophisticated back then so I would probably really welcome this quality now that I have a better understanding of what constitutes a good mastering job versus a poor one.

My favorite speakers are my JBL L-100 Century's. They're ugly, they're not very accurate, but they ROCK! :D

Never heard of 'em but I know that there is a lot of stuff out there that I've never heard. And never will hear, too, come to think of it!

And I think that matching electronics with cables with interconnects with speakers is more important than any one single piece of equipment.

Glad you like your speakers! I'm sure they sound great!
