Is this possible?

I am considering inserting a TV into my two channel, traditional room set up. It's a pretty confined space: 12 X 13 feet. I'll also have to insert surround speakers, center channel (rear center is not possible) and sub.

My concern is will this ruin my sweet two channel set up (considering the speakers are as close to Golden Cardas as I can get them)? The TV should fit (I'll have to measure it to be sure!) completely *behind* the front of the speakers. It won't fit completely behind the entire speaker.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Gary

(And then I'll have to stuff the stereo in the corner somewhere.... :( )

PS: Flat screen is not financially possible.... and I just simply cannot wait anymore for the lotto to come in.....

It doesn't have to, Gary, but when you're talking about replacing your 2-chanel set up, are you getting a new receiver or pre/amp combo to replace the heart of your playback chain?

You can still use strong Stereo speaker setup in a 5.1 setting. I do. I just use seperate amps for each section. Stereo, rear, center, sub all have seperate amps. But I use a 5.1 able pre to do it right.

Sckott, I will never replace my McIntosh amps. If I can't utilize the Mac pre, I'll get another 5.1 or 6.1 pre to go into the McIntosh MC240 power amp. I'll use the MX110 for 2 channel only.

Yes, I know, using Mac amp and "X" amp for surround will not sonically match but I will not comprimise my 2 channel set up.

The MC240 has two seta of inputs for two different pre amps.....

Sckott, what pre do you use..... I think you mentioned it before. I forgot. Sorry.
