Don't watch Jerry,( his show ) but he did pretty well for an old man.
I think the men did better than the women.
I'd like to be able to dance that well. But it's not going to happen.
I think it's fun to watch and the music is good too.
My favorite show though is "So you think you can dance" WOW

I did happen to see Tucker Carlson do something you don't get to see him do normally - he's seldom subtle enough in his work for tap-dancing!
But he seemed to be enjoying himself...kind of like when an unpopular figure goes on Larry King to bolster their image tackling softball questions.
Face it, not everybody can dance, or should try to make a living out of it. But what's wrong with seeing these people try something new? If anything, I'd like to see more dancing, less backstage drama.

Thank you well said. Emmitt wasn't bad either. I was surprised, err at least I think the men out did the women.
Where do they get the "house band" singers on this show? Not good...

It will interesting to see how long Jerry stays in. My wife is pulling for him just because he makes her laugh.

What's with all these NBC shows airing a day earlier in Canada? I'm downloading the first episode as I write and probably will get to watch it before the baseball game tonight.

If you don't like it, you don't have to watch it. :agree:
I like it, even though I couldn't dance my way out of a paper bag. For me, it's interesting to see people learn and improve at a discipline that is foreign to them. It's the only "reality" show I watch, having no interest in people eating bugs and vomit.
That said, I do think they give too much weight to the call in voters. The contestants score is 50% the professional judges score, and 50% the call in voters. This is the reason Jerry Springer and Sara Evans are still in contention, while better dancers like Vivaca A. Fox got the boot.
Mario Lopez and Joey Lawrence are great dancers. Emmitt Smith is darn good. The rest are a level below, Springer several levels below, although his samba was better than I expected from him.
My 2 cents.

Guys, the show is worth watching if you're a "leg" man. :)

I agree on both the show and Mario's dimples (as well as everything else about Mario). What a handsome man.
The show itself is overly long. I fast forward through all of the recaps (if you're watching the show regularly, who needs 'em?), most of the "behind the scenes" stuff (though not Mario's ;) ), and most of the chit chat; I really just want to see the performances and hear the judge's comments. That they stretch a handful of performances into a 90 minute show makes American Idol look fast paced, and the results shows are even more padded with junk.
The show is...eh, but Mario's dimples? :shh:

There was an article in the Globe And Mail, IIRC, a couple of weeks ago. There are 5 or 6 shows at least that are airing a day earlier in Canada, including Studio 60, the Ray Liota show, and 30 Rock. Global and CTV must be throwing their weight around now, or the U.S. networks are not so tight with their rules of first broadcast or same day broadcast anymore.
Also living in Calgary (Mountain Time) and having a satelite, I can watch prime time TV starting at 5pm, through CTV (ATV) Halifax and Global Halifax. For example on Fridays I can watch Law & Order at 5pm and then the Jennifer Love Hewitt show at 6pm.

Come on - that's sugarcoating what this train wreck of a show should be called. :thumbsdn:

Do the judges votes count for anything? Seems like it all comes down to the call in votes. So it's really just a popularity contest...the best dancers get the boot sometimes and the pretty bad ones often get to hang around. What's the point? It doesn't seem like a really fair contest.

Season 5 started yesterday :righton: The women danced. Tonight it's the men. I think it'll be a great season. :)
