Beatles EP Collection

Finally gave the MMT portion of this a good, hard listen, and this set *does* seem to represent a cleaner, more logical transfer of the stereo material than the MMT CD (also, most of the stuff that shows up on the Blue album seems to use this as a base). For example, take I Am the Walrus on the MMT CD, and listen to the right channel...the strings fade up quite abruptly, while on the EP collection, the fade-up is less artificial. This doesn't seem like a mix difference; more like after the fact tampering. however, can anybody confirm how the vinyl releases of this song in stereo do things?
