It looks like all previous threads were lost during the slowdown. Only about 2 or so episodes left till the end of the season. This week's episode was a shocker! In fact, the whole season has been great.

Glad I'm about 4 episodes behind - guess I've got a lot to look forwrd to!

My wife and I just love the scathing humor that they cram into an otherwise black-as-night storyline.

Can't say my wife was thrilled with the tail-end of the episode where Tommy forced himself upon Janet...and certainly less thrilled with the revelation that the lust was mutual rather than turning into an "empowerment" issue.

It's funny - we look at this crew, and see them trash their lives and feel for them...but we soured on nip/tuck because we both concluded it was perverse!

Just a heads up to Canadian fans of the show. Season 3 finally begins Monday, August 28th on Showcase in Canada, 10pm PST. http://smilies.stevehoffman.tv/bounce.gif

WARNING, small spoiler in the above post (#2).

The old Rescue Me threads are in the archives now, BTW.

Funny, my IPG (and showcase.ca) shows it's on Tuesday night, Dead Like Me is on Mondays at 10.

But thanks for the reminder, now to double-check the timer on my PVR.

This has been an amazing season of Rescue Me. I thought season 2 was a little ho-hum but this season has been nothing short of spectacular. I won't go into furthur details because people obviously haven't seen it but I think its their best effort yet.

What gets me is, to see Dennis Leary shut out for an Emmy last night - then we watched the episode where he does the scene in the bar.

This show leaves you drained.

I just finished watching the first season DVD. What I don't get is why this show has two identical characters (the young, naive firemen with low IQs)? They look the same, they act the same and they talk the same. I can't tell them apart.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern?

If you are watching this season, you'll see that the Probie has found a way to...differentiate...himself...

Yeah, we have to wait until your season is ending to see it beginning up here. :sigh:

At least I didn't miss it! :goodie: Just setting the timer now for tonight. :righton:

I just saw the season 3 finale. For the most part it played well (like any normal episode), but the ending came out of nowhere and left me thinking, "Is this the best they could do?" In other words, the ending wasn't organic. It was forced. It was a cheap shot. This whole season was great and then they do this. The interesting thing is that Leary and Tolan wrote this episode. I hope they know what they're doing and that season 4 comes out better for it.

One of the funniest and best written shows on television. I never miss an episode!

One of the best scenes of the year was when Tommy was going down on young blonde woman that would not shut up. Then he suddenly stops and goes in the kitchen drawer to get the duct tape to shut her up.

I agree the ending was lame. Great season though.

Nah, I think that was a sufficient season closer.

I'm become more and more aware that sequential shows like these are up against it at season's close. They don't know if they're coming back for another season by the time the last ep is filming, so they have to go out with a bang...but a bang that can be resolved if there's more episodes to come.

FX needs to consider a 20-episode run next time. Nice job, team!

I'm confused. Is it season 4 or season 3 that we'll be seeing up here?

Season 4....the third one is out on DVD.

I've been avoiding all threads about this show so I don't see a spoiler, but I couldn't resist today...thankfully I'm only seeing the one post that I'm answering.

The first two seasons were excellent. 3rd was okay. So far, the 4th is just really stupid. Tommy's life has become way too over-the-top soap opera, and none of the other stories have a point anymore.

I think season 4 has been pretty bad right up until two weeks ago. Tha last two episodes have been stellar IMO. And is it just me or does Tommy Gavin get the best looking women for such an average looking guy with serious issues?

"Tommy" is the director, so he's not going to cast himself with a biggun, that's for sure.
