Has anyone seen this? is anyone going to get it ?

I really want to know what type of person it's aimed at, the novice? the expert?

thanks

Steve if you get a freebie from HE2006 I'll swap it for a nice Y&B "With the Beatles" Mono -4
if you're interested!!

Only if there's full-frontal nudity involved.

I'm getting it. I think it covers all the bases, novice and expert wise. There's an interview with a mastering engineer about the vinyl cutting & pressing process (George Marino, I think), then set up of three different tables. He told me it touches on the Wally set up tools. There's also DVD-Rom content. Finally, for the full frontal nudity, he shows of his new $90,000 turntable. Prime audio porn, donyathink?

Tim, It is a must buy, Michael is one of the most entertaining guys I have ever met. I have been to his TT talks live at various HE200X shows and I always come away with new info and with sore sides from laughing so much.

I used to work with a guy who frankly is world #1 at the mystic art of LP12s. He's set up and repaired turntables of all makes for 20 years. He's know his stuff ,believe me.

I want to get this for him as a laugh. I just hope it's not aimed at real novices. He'll throw it in the bin immediately, then I'll recover it and have a look.

I met MF at the Heathrow show last year, nice guy and his web site is always a good read.

The DVD is quite good. Yeah, there's a lot of out of focus shots and it's a pretty unscripted, off the top of his head presentation but you know what, I learned how to set up my turntable and that's the whole point of the DVD. It helps he had my table and cart. I guess I lucked out. :)

BTW, be sure to check out the B&W mini movie from 1978 of Mikey's stand up days.

Has anyone received theirs via an online order? I placed mine at Music Direct, but they told me they haven't gotten their shipment yet. Must everything related to me setting up my turntable take too long to arrive? :)

I ordered from Acoustic Sounds and got mine last week.

I sent a PM to Michael Fremer and he said the second "pressing" was being shipped to retailers and should arrive to people within a week.

Coo-el. I suppose you made the Wally inquiry because of the DVD? Nice that he chose your table to show, huh?

. . . and I'm very surprised to hear that as well. Thought it was going to be dual-layered? I know that's possible on DVD-R's now, but those discs are expensive and of questionable compatability.

I wonder if mine was an early prototype or something...... Anyone else want to chime in?

Jamie..........

Is your copy a DVD-R?........

So are these DVD-R copies promos? I see that every online store still has the DVD in "pre-order" status. Anybody know what the story is?
