LOL!

Okay, so you wanna give GregM's heart a moderate attack?

Actually, I'm not suprised if it's true. We'll have to see, but I'm very happy with DVD-A and ideas that can stem from the format. SACD was great, but... oh hell I said it already.

Let's wait n see...??

My heart's feelin' fine Sckott! :)

Looking forward to Sony SACD releases of more Miles, Isley Bros and O'Jays (as well as other titles) on the 18th. Sony now has dream systems featuring SACD/DVD home theater in a box for $500, several new multichannel SACD and SACD/DVD players, and thousands of titles rumored to be in the queue for SACD production.

Sounds like someone don't know what time it is!

Time of the season?

Time for peace? (I swear it's not too late)

Time for revolving doors and killing floors?

Time to tick away the moments that make up a dull day?

Speaking of which, does anybody really know what time it is?

Sounds like an urban legend to me.

Especially when the message is signed by a person named "SACDnot" (!)

I sent this one on to one of the folks in Philips' SACD group. His response was essentially - of course not.

He noted that Sony & Philips had just finished up a major demo and promotion of SACD at the International Audio Engineering Society Conference in New York this past weekend.

A strange move if they were indeed "pulling the plug" on the SACD format (!)

Bring on the next rumor - from "DVDA-not", perhaps ?!

As if the world can be so easily spared the ravages of euphonic distortion...

One thing I forgot about realizing is, if Sony was going to pull SACD, they would have also pulled MiniDisc too. Both have their own "nitche" in the world.

Sony is not known for letting go of their formats that easily. Beta is still doing very well in the broadcast world.
