Steve, curious to know what you regard as a "Phil Spector Nightmare Problem"?

I can't remember what we were talking about on another thread, but Phil hated not being in control of his final product. That's why he preferred mono, as I'm sure the World knows by now.

Hmmm. I guess we were talking about some kind of surround sound thing, maybe the bass management problem in DVD-A systems. Something like that is would make Phil crazy, not being able to personally go to everyone's house and adjust their system to play his mix correctly....

Anything to do with surround is a Phil Spector Nightmare Problem....Right? ;)

Well, when I do a mix, it pains me to know that people won't hear it on their playback systems the way I mixed/mastered it. Even with stereo all manner of havoc is raised if the playback isn't proper.
