I spent $1200 on my SACD player but don't have that kind of $$$ right now. Thanks for any input.

The JVC XV-FA95GD is nice because it can be a carosel CD, MP3 player, VCD, DVD and full DVD-A.

Should be here. (http://www.jandr.com/JRProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=940&Product_Id=2007030&showcase=t) It lists for $389 but it's found for close to $329 - $350 which is nice, concidering what it's able to do.

See if you can find the Technics A10. I've seen it for as little as $300 and it's about the best dvd-a player out there. It weighs about 20 lbs. and it is built like a tank.

Sckott, do you know what the sampling rate is on this model? The link does not seem to indicate it....... Thanks. :D

Yep! Here 'Tis. (http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL026745&page=2) Don't be afraid of looking on manufacturer's websites. Lately everything from Rotel, JVC, Sony have been very informative. Great stuff.

Also, this model has some interesting "outs" for those without proper preamp or receiver surround. It's actually right on board on this model if you
look here. (http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-6bIMBCLOH25/ProdView.asp?s=0&g=54500&id=morephotos&pi=2&i=257XVFA95G&display=XL)

This might not have any bearing, but it's a nice idea, especially for feature & price. I'm getting one early next year to replace my simple Technics changer. Also has optical and coax. I've heard it, and it sounds very competitive to more expensive models (MHO)....

It's no bigger than most 5-disc models. I mention this as a changer, but because it accepts CDR and VCD, Mp3, it'll play just about anything, and believe me, it's a nice little convenience.

Check out some single disc players. You may find, depending on your setup, maybe a single disc-er might be more appropriate, but I've been eyeing this model for how it fits in my life. It might be one of the last changers I'll buy.
