Just wanted to let everyone know that Steve Hoffman is one of a kind. I have spoken to my share of apathetic, rude, and lazy people in the last few months, searching for this CD. I was honestly going to give up and pay someone in Canada to dupe the LP to CD for $75.00. Along comes Steve and 48 hours after he gets back from vacation, I have the CD in my hands. This is the truly unbelievable part: HE SENT IT FEDEX FOR NO CHARGE! All I can say is thank-you. The second my dad opens this gift I will tell him the story behind this special CD.
Thanks again Steve – :D

Steve's done the same for me, more than once. He's the rare person that will actually go a bit out of his way to help, if he can. That CD you're not going to find in many places, but I'm glad he found one in the offices!
Steve, thanks. You know why.
:D :D :D :D
Seventy five bucks? 75 bucks? You mean SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS? That is about $120.00 CAD. I'm getting a CDR of the Japanese CD release of Jon Anderson's 3 Ships for $20.00 including artwork. Had a vinyl drop done of Year of the Cat for $10.00 (no artwork). From a fellow Canadian.
On behalf of all the Canadians on this board, please accept my humble appologies - we are not all that  greedy

PS Yes - Steve's a great guy! He helped me with choosing a tube system and the tubes themselves! Thanks again, Steve! Sounds bloody marvellous!

I thought us American SOB's were the greedy, slobbery twits. Hey, a greedy Canadian is usually rare in my experience. Salut!

Steve is a "super" person...

After that posting it's the first time in my life I don't feel all that proud to be a Canadian.

Steve is very giving of his time and talent.
I could name 20 up and coming bands he has helped out by mixing and mastering their music, for nothing, or next to nothing.
I mean, who else would help deserving groups out like that? No one I know in the music industry.
How'd I find this out? Word of good deeds gets around.
So, if you hear some new music on your Tower Records headphones that sounds like it has the breath of life, you'll know Steve helped some hungry, broke musicians make it!

These are the kind of threads I love. An opportunity to thank Steve for being so giving, so thoughtful, so caring about his work.
To me, if Steve touches any remastering job, it cannot be improved upon. He is the epitome of professionalism, and is an asset to the profession.
Kudos all the way around! :D
Ya know what.... I think this is a big, secret "plot"! Think of it.... Steve does some of the best remastering on the planet, so people will ask "Gee Peter, why can't YOU do something that good? I want my old music to sound like a Hoffman". Then he masters for up and coming groups. And when they get signed, they ask the engineer / producer "Gee, guys, Steve Hoffman made us sound fantastic. Why don't you do that too, OK?"
He :) he :) he :) he :) ! ! !
Whaddya think - good theory, eh? ;)
