Been awhile since a tube thread popped up - how's about we share our favorite flavor of that classic from the 50's, the EL-34/6CA7? Right now my Dynakit MK IV's are running with Siemens from E. Germany - nice and warm sounding - I'm thinking of starting a metamorphosis with some Curcio mods to tighten up the wooly bass I've got. Any folks out there got some classic Mullard's from the days of fine tubes???? While I'm at it, is there a place to find out about the history of this particular tube (like which came first - the EL-34 or it's fatso bottled U.S. relative 6CA7)?

Siemens? Nice.

Mullards for me, but really, I've not heard a bad brand of EL-34!

Might be helpful to know how much you have to
spend...

Yep, I needs those back issues for VTV, but if I buy all those that sets the Marantz 8B fund back several more months!
