I believe that's why we're all here.

Most of the other forums I've visited are full of rude/vulgar people who think they know alot about music ie. the equipment used, recording techniques etc. when in fact they really don't know much.

All the real pro's seem to hang out here.

I just want to say thanks to Steve and everyone for a real education and not a bunch of opinionated crap. http://ubb.fanasylum.com/smiles/wavey.gif

I second Dave's education comment. I've learned a lot from this forum and it's members! I suppose the biggest eye opener was my very first DCC purchase! Or should that be "ear opener?" ;)

Thanks to all! What a great board - who need anything else?

Who cares if she's singing or not? You'd be humming along at about 20kHz.

I also say "Thanks" for this board. It's nice to come to a place where it is OK to have different opinions on things while all trying to reach the same end-- getting the best sounding recordings of our favorite music to listen to at our homes. Also thanks to Steve Hoffman for being a real person. There are lots of people in the recording business who are too busy or have a stuck up attitude who don't have time to talk to the masses. Steve's just another music lover who happens to have the enviable job of hearing the master tapes and bringing the best sound to us (as long as the stuck up people who own the rights to the master tapes allow it to be licensed). Otherwise he's just a music nut like the rest of us. Thanks to all of you and thanks to Steve. I visit 3 main places on the net each day and this is number 1. In fact, not to get too windy, but I just signed up for cable-modem service. The backbone they use is overloaded and I can't get to this site without logging on to my old IP with my 56K modem. If that isn't fixed soon, I'll be back on the 56K modem very soon.

Personally, I'd rather listen to George Jones over Britney Spears anytime, Larry. If Britney is your cup of tea, that's fine, but I do agree that Britney's music is lap dancing music. Although I do have a Shania Twain CD, Steve Earle (whom I do like the music of) has been quoted a few years ago saying that at the time Shania was the "highest paid lap dancer ever" while Shania told him that she is not a lap dancer. I think that George is a much better singer than Britney though. I'll always be amazed that I found out that you and I have many similar tastes of music as everyone has their own tastes of music.
