Scd-1: Any running changes?

Were there any changes to the design or internal components during the production run of the Sony Scd-1? I have a chance at an early production model for a decent price.

The pre 2001 models were the ones with all the motor problems. My SCD-1 was made in May, 2001 and has never even skipped once. Now it depends what kind of deal your getting and what's left on the warranty. This is easily the best audio purchase I've ever made, but do consider all the variables. Gary.
