Cool Edit EQ settings

What do you all recommend for some EQ settings to give a little boost to vinyl transfers and make them a bit punchier? Also, which EQ would you recommend: 5 band, 20 or 30 band???

I know all records sound different, but I figured someone could give me a good starting point.

Well, you might start with a good soundcard and good quality cables.
