New Cool Edit Pro Problem

Hey guys:

I'm having a wierd problem with CEP. Maybe someone can shed some light on it. I can do all the functions of CEp except one thing...Cd copy......it hangs the PC!!!

is anyone else having this problem?

CD copy? Explain further. CEP does not do any CD copying, ripping, or burning.

Grant, thats what happens when you stay up all nite.....

I MEANT to say EZ Cd Creator 5.

When I click on "CD Copy" , the window comes up and it hangs the machine, I cant even close EZ CD with the Task Manager,
I have to reboot.

If I try to copy a Cd with the Plextor programs, I also get a error trying to read from the source CD drive.

Any ideas??

Yeah, what OS are you using? What other burning programs do you have?

Grant, I'm running Win 2000.

I also have the Plextor suite of CDR programs loaded in the system tray, bue even if I disable that, the "copy" function of EZ Cd still hangs the PC.

CD Creator has issues with Win 2000 and XP. You can download patches from the Roxio website. They also recommend disabling Go Back in either Windows XP or the one that comes with Creator, if you have XP.

I DID find the problem...the "donor" CD drive is physically bad.


Oh well, at least I know now!!
