...and/or, hopefully, have a lot of it?;-) I'm trying to get into collecting this (various comps, the Tempters, Mops, Golden Cups) but have no idea where to find the discs, what's good, et cetera. And everything that IS availible is so expensive...!

David-san, do a search and take a look at the Ace Records UK website - you'll find a comp or two of Japanese GS music. I have one such beast and the sound is nice (Japan was big into stereo recording by the mid 60's); the performances can be pretty unbelievable, and wait'll you dig some of the garbled takes on the Queen's English... If you dig beat music by wacky foreigners, also look at the Shakers from Uruguay (mop-top wannabe's who turn in some mighty pounding work)...

That's the problem. I *have* those..^_^ And I need more more more!

Now, all that's currently availible are a few discs on Teichiku, but they largely repeat the same material, and are prohibitively expensive. Soybomb.com lists TONS of older releases, but I don't know where to get them!

Have you tried bomp.com? I get their email and I see a lot of garage items listed.
