Free Remaster

Island have reissued the first 4 studio records... the remastering is better than on the box set, although the mastering engineer was the same... Pete Mew. All CDs have a lot of bonus tracks.

I have not been impressed with Mew's work in the past. He tends to use No Noise a lot. The Virgin Bowies that he did all sound bizarre and squashed.

Are the Free remasters available in the US or are they inports?

Thanks for the info on the reissues. I have the import box and found the sound incredible, especially some of the unreleased stuff. Probably not played back since recording, they sound pristine. Now if they can only release "Heartbreaker".
