Should I spring for the Rhino reissues of the Ramones albums, or go for the old two-fers "All The Good Stuff" Vol. I & II?

I found the older CD's for pretty cheap, but I'd like to know if the Rhino reissues are that much better.

Thanks for any help.

Steve Hoffman stated a while back that the SIRE CD RAMONESMANIA sounded faithful to the original tapes, so you might want to check it out. Being just the one disc, it might leave out something you want, but it covers all the hits up to the late eighties (no PET CEMETARY, fer instance).

Thanks for the tip. I know the twofers are from Sire, so maybe the RamonesMania CD uses the same mastering...the only other reservation I have with the twofers is that they don't seem to have the original artwork.

Thanks again

Go for the new reissues. Ramonesmania is pretty inadequate as far as a compiliation goes. If you are going to the compilation route, the 2 CD Ramones Anthology is better than Ramonesmania, but the really the reissues are worth it.

Yeah, I gotta admit, I'm not too crazy about that Ramonesmania's track list. I want the first four albums in their entirety, and I can get them either through Rhino's reissues, or the cheaper twofers Sire put out around 1990. Anyway, thanks for the input.
