There are two gold discs listed at eBay, and I have a feeling they'll go for a reasonable price.
Pigmode,
Guess who's got their sites on one? No cheating now. ;)

Awww, already got me one. Highly recommended. I guess I should only do half.com alerts to avoid creating undue competition in case other members are already on it. ;)

Just phoned these people
http://www.audiophileusa.com/DCC.HTM as they had it listed for $26.95 and was informed that they had one copy left and it was going for $60.00. :( Bend over!

Hey Larry, remind me not to bookmark that site. I got my pristine disc at half.com for $21. plus shipping. Elvis 24K is a rare one.

Hey guys,
I had been wondering recently if some of the regular posters on this board were bidding up the prices on ebay items without knowing we were bidding against each other.
In some respects, I guess we shouldn't really know. But I would hate to know that I am costing some of you DCC fans extra $$ every time I bid on a DCC gold disc and don't win it.
I mention all this because I, too, had bid on a low priced (at least when I bid) Orbison Gold CD last night.
I don't know of a fair way to prevent this, but it is something to think about.
Take care,
Tony

I apologize for that, I only realized that posibility after I posted. NO SOUP FOR ME! (sigh)
Tony,
It wasn't me as I haven't even bid yet as I'll wait and watch.
Pigmode,
Perhaps a little slappy on the wrist and no soup would be more in order. :D

Hi,
I was in a Borders the other day looking for DCC Golds and not having any luck. I cruised through Jazz, and Easy Listening and had made it up to the O's in Rock/Pop. I did see a couple of titles that I already had, but then pay dirt! The Roy Orbison was there. I had been looking for that one for some time. I later went to four Border's within driving distance, and found "Pet Sounds" at one in the case they reserve for boxed sets. That was it though. Two good scores however.
Somehow I found a site in Texas, www.musicplex.com, (
http://www.musicplex.com,) that had some DCC Golds which were not listed as such. Maybe that's why they were still there. But the price was a guide. I picked out the ones I needed and emailed them so they could check, and they were DCCs. Managed to get Elvis's "24 Karat Hits", Tull's Original Masters, McCartney self-titled, Saxophone Colossus, the Ella double, and Nat King Cole's Greatest Hits all at standard prices ($25). All pretty hard to find titles. Probably my best gold seam.
They actually had two of the Elvis, so I bought an extra one to swap. I need "RAM" and "City to City" so if anyone has either of these available and needs the Elvis, I'm your man. I could sweeten the deal, as I also have spares of "Pet Sounds", "The Pretender" and "Waiting for the Sun".
Regards,
Metralla.

Well, I'd like to get one of these. I see 2 listed. You must have bid on the 1st, since there's no bids yet on the other. I'll go for the 2nd one.
I tried that muiscplex site, but it must be down, can't get in.

I got my DCC Orbison from Amazon.com for $18.99 just a few months ago. They still have it listed, but for a higher price ($27.52 or something), and it says "limited availability." Don't know if that means "out of stock" or not ...
I am glad I got the two DCC Presley titles while I could. They are two of my favorites. Oh, and the Orbison is really good as well ...

The same thing happened to me about a month ago when I wanted to buy Hotel California. This is not the way to run a business.

Hey guys,
I didn't mean to make anyone feel like they shouldn't go bid on the Orbison discs. Go ahead and bid on either of them, no problem. NO SOUP FOR ME!!
The topic just made me think again that we might be bidding against each other on the DCC stuff on ebay.
Even if we knew each others ebay user names it would be impossible to keep track of and it would actually be unfair to the sellers if we were aware of each others bids.
Take care,
Tony
I
JohnnyK,
Yeah I encountered the same thing with audiophile usa. They have some DCC aluminums so I asked how much? What a stunner being told $18.00 was the price per that's at least double what they went go for retail!
What kind of crack habit do these companys/so-called sellers have?
