Heard from a fairly trusty source that some Rock Star is trying to buy DCC. Wow.
Can anyone else confirm or deny this?
Hmmmm..I don't really know anything but I'm happy to add my two cents to the rumor mill...
I hope it's McCartney!
Best,
Ben
It's Neil Young. He's going to drop by Steve's house and complain that digital sucks all day long. The first release is expected at about the same time as Neil's box set. (Christmas 2010)

I think it's Pete Townshend. Luke finally pushed him over the edge.
I'm famous, a rock star, and I'm gonna buy DCC.
Actually, I'm a wanna be x 3. :D

Pete just emailed. Said Luke did push him over the edge, but he's not going to buy DCC just because he's here. Neil also emailed and said that complaining about digital night and day with Steve sounds like a lot of fun and that he's game.
Naw, it's gotta be Alice Cooper! He is raising money by doing commercials for the down payment. M M's popularity pushed him over the edge and he wants to prove his music blows Marilyn away.
Which it does! ;)
Anyone else?

Whoever it is I hope it's someone good, so we'll get a decent reissue catalog from them. I'll be disapointed if it's someone like Bryan Adams or Dennis DeYoung. I don't need to hear their music more clearly. Or maybe that's been the problem. It's got to be someone with lots of $: Keeping my fingers crossed for Bowie, McCartney, Elton, etc. I'll bet it's McCartney. :)
It could be Sir Paul! Or someone who knows Steve, admires his work, is disappointed with certain remastering engineers at certain English studios and does NOT want his work trashed by technology.
Remember Steve said that DCC got some cash from a totally unexpected source? This rumour may be the result of someone making an investment in (not trying to buy) DCC (like the rumour has a grain of truth but is off a bit - like most rumours).
And, of course, part of the deal is remastering by Steve....!!!!
Hmmmmm! :D

I heard, from a very unreliable source that it's Allen Klein. In an interveiw he stated that the "Stones" catalog would be first followed soon thereafter by the complete "Cameo Parkway".
Anyone of the previous mentioned artists would be an improvement over say Michael Jackson including Bryan Adams and Dennis DeYoung.

Do The Hucklebuck! Yeah! Do The Hucklebuck! :-)
But more likely it's that ELO guy who was giving us a hard time last week! :-)
(P.S. I ordered the ELO set to hear for myself - it's my third _CD_ copy of their first album - I guess that means that I like it, right?)

I'm putting my money on Nigel Tufnel. I'm sure he feels that Tap's back catalogue has not gotten the attention it deserves from Polymer so he's decided it's about time the music be heard the way it was originally intended. I heard Shark Sandwich will have both the stereo & mono mixes as well.
Happy Listening ! ED

Wouldn't it be nice if it was Brian Wilson? "Smile" on DCC Gold - or even better Dual Layer Gold SACD - lets my imagination run wild...
Peace

They better include the 45 mix of "Cups and Cakes."

Ha! My dyslexia kicked in and I read that as "it's not a rock star, Ringo wants it".
I was about to take issue with that, when I realized what you really typed. :D :D :D

Someone quoted on CNN's page regarding the Beatles:
"(Lennon) was the soul of the Beatles, Harrison was the spirit, Paul was the heart, and Ringo was the drummer."

Maybe it's C. C. Deville? That guy's about as much of a rock star as Rick Rockwell's a millionaire...

Didn't realize you were a fan. Probably disappointed that the DCC Poison didn't come out in April, eh?

Mike, I'm wondering if you have the ability to understand humor. the "hehe" should have been the giveaway, especially seeing how people feel about Rhino and Bill Inglot.
Well, it's either my inability to understand humor or your inability to communicate humor. But now I understand. Thanks for the clarification.
