Thanks to all who took the time to post some feedback. I appreciate your efforts & info.
Here's a little story for the interested.
Gary (Member #8) mentioned that there must be a Sony store here in Australia. There
are a couple in Melbourne and here is how Sony Australia treats it's perspective customers.
I went in to enquire about new SACD players as I noticed that the Sony America website
had a couple of great players being released
and I was curious as to whether they were going to be released in Australia. Upon my arrrival at the store I was promptly ignored for about 10 minutes ( I obviously didn't have the right skater boy look happening!).
I asked about new models that may be coming in the new year and was informed that Australia would be getting none of the US models in the near future. I then asked to have a listen to A SACD to which I was informed (and I quote) "Oh, we haven't got our **** together yet and got any in".
After this appalling display I rang Sony head office to complain and was requested to write a letter of complaint whcih I did.
The reply I eventually got after 2 weeks -
A catalogue, with no covering letter!
