Has anyone else compared the European 2CD version of Recorded Live with the BGO single CD? It sounds like vinyl has been used as the souce because at the start of each original vinyl side, there is what sounds like vinyl "roar" - I can't hear any obvious vinyl clicks and pops, but there are some new transient noises introduced. I'd love to hear how BGO did this master originally.
On top of this, noise reduction has been used particularly during the wanky short guitar solos, while it's abandoned during the longer songs, with a consequent sudden jump in hiss level. Great poster, but I'd suggest sticking to the BGO.

The BGO remasters are still the best, but...
...EMI will release the complete TYA backkatalog in 2002. All releases with expanded liner notes, photos and bonus tracks.

Chrysalis stuff or were they able to licence the Deram stuff too?

TYA - what a frustrating band! One of the very best live acts - especially prior to Woodstock! But never , IMO, able to capture their magic, performance-wise or sound-wise on disc!
Personally, I never liked the BGO "Recorded Live," nor the original vinyl release. Performances were lackluster and the sound lacking. Sorry to hear the European 2CD release is inferior.
If I remember correctly, Tommy Tunes gave a short review on one of the boards of their new, 'Live Fillmore -79' release and in essence gave the performance a thumbs up and the sound a thumbs down. Anyone else heard it? Steve - how about doing that one right for DCC. One of the best live acts ever, in their hey-day, at one of the best venues?!
There is supposed to be a Texas rock festival boot (on Oh Boy label?) with great performance and better sound. Anyone know anything about that? I've looked and can't find it, or any reference to it.
Maybe something will come out of the upcoming EMI reissues (or are they remasters?). Any thoughts?

At Fillmore East was recorded in 70 not in 79... and I'm sorry the EMI remaster sounds good. EMI will release the complete backktalog... that means the Deram stuff (Undead, Stonedhenge...) too!!!
