what are the benefits and or drawbacks as opposed to turntable via soundcard.... I want to copy vinyl to CD......Can you record to regular computer CDR`s......I have a turtle beach soundcard so would I be better off using my computer............What are the best stand alones........thanks...

A computer is more versatile than a standalone recorder. And faster, too. You could edit your recordings and listen to them before burning. Also, you can record to regular computer CD-Rs on the computer. I am not sure if that is possible with a standalone recorder, probably not. Iīd go with the computer.
Hey, if you record to 24/96 with a decent soundcard, you could make a 24/96 Audio DVD out of that, using DVD authoring software and a DVD burner. I havenīt done that so far, though...
