ACK!

Watched the new Runaways documentary Edgeplay - very interesting stuff, as my knowledge of them was limited to a few magazine articles. I remember having The Best Of The Runaways on LP at one point and that was it, really.
Cherie Currie still looks hot. In fact, I think better than when she was in the group. The tales from the former members are harrowing and it left deep scars on them, particularly Currie and drummer Sandy West.
The only thing that mars this is that there are no Joan Jett interviews and very little of The Runaways' music or video clips. Apparently, Joan Jett would not consent to do interviews or allow her music to be used. Ahh well, it's not like she was an important member of the band or anything.
Were it not for the inclusion of some archival interview footage, Jett would barely be in the movie. Too bad - this film would have taken on more significance with her thoughts on the whole experience. Despite her absence, she's still a major presence, as evidenced by the reminisces of the ex-Runaways members.
Anyway, if you like this kind of thing, check it out. A true story of how not to put a band together. :shake:
