This video seems to be unreal. It's certainly the king of cheesy music videos.
It's beyond anything I've seen before. Looks like a 70s parody, but it's not.

i got the same thing. I guess they rotate or replace their offerings. That's too bad as the video was wonderfully awful.

before MTV there was an Australian show called COUNTDOWN!

I've seen a Countdown special on Kiss.
The band was big there in 1980!

yeah Countdown With Molly Meldrum was huge in Australia in the 70's and ealry 80's a lot of stuff from overseas bands was recorded just for this show!
if i remember Cheap Trick scored thier first number 1 in the world in Australia with thier Dream Police vido clip recorded for Countdown!

Prince Charles was also on the show once!

it was one of best music shows ever!

When did record labels start making music videos outside of the unusual one-offs (things like the Beatles)? I have a bunch of promo videos (reel to reel format) from the UK from the late '70s--a bit pre-MTV.
