Hello to all.
I fell to the hype on Lost (the TV series) and have seen the first four or five episodes of the first season (we are usually a season away from the US). At this point I am about to give up on it but I wonder if there's light at the end of the tunnel and I should persevere.
'cept for the ladies, I find nothing of interest yet.

I'm about 4 episodes behind right now, but I can't wait to get caught back up.
Yes, the plot moves pretty slowly, but I love how we learn more about the characters and their pasts with each episode.
To put it simply, I'm hooked!

I think the writers are very good. They've dug into the characters past while giving us pieces of the islands secrets, hopefully the payoff will be worth it.
Watch it in HD if you can! Lots of eye candy!!!

One of only 2 shows I watch (and 24). It leaves me hungry for more every episode. I just hope it all comes together at some point.

Now that Lost is opposite American Dreams, I am about to give up on it. I've watched since the beginning, but not only has it gotten too slow moving for me, but it has become too hard to believe.
I thought it was entertaining (although not realistic) when it started. I think its descending into melodrama and I may give up on it soon.

I dunno-- I could praise the show all I want but if you're not interested after the first four episodes I don't know if you're ever going to be.

Maybe they are seeding too many loose ends but it will begin to take form soon.
Thanks for the replies!

I've watched it a few times, but had some kind of conflict on the tivo so was never able to really get into it. It does look great in hi-def.
Based on what I've seen and the recommendations of those on this board and other friends, I think I'll pick up the dvd set when it is released. (BTW, I really love watching tv on dvd sets. So much more convenient. Watching 24 as it airs and the week between episodes is killing me.)

I think it's great TV. Then again, I taped and enjoyed all of Twin Peaks, and it has been generally lambasted by the critcs as aimless, so there you have it.

...by all means stick with it! Great show...

I've watched since the beginning, but not only has it gotten too slow moving for me, but it has become too hard to believe.Tonight is the season finale of AD, so you really only need to miss one more episode. As for myself, I gave up on LOST because I just found myself wondering why I was watching it. I didn't really like it that much, so I didn't watch it one week, and I've honestly never thought about it again.

I enjoy watching it, but if they don't resolve some of loose ends by the end of this season, I might bail. And next week's episode of a person being born, a person dying looks like it could be a bit predictable. I hope it won't be.

I'm seriously hoping they learned from the X-Files mistakes - if you get seven years
into the show, raise more questions then you answer, viewers lose interest. Switching
out Mulder didn't kill the show for me - my interest waned long before then. As for
Lost, I'm loyal and can't wait to watch the episode my wife taped. I have a strong
feeling several questions will be answered by May or next season, relatively early on,
then the actual plot will take shape, leading to some bigger answers.

I've been hooked since day one. I see people's points regarding its sometimes meandering ways, but they either have--or are in clearly in the process of--tied up loose ends while continuing to weave in new twists and turns. The show takes a commitment, but I don't feel like I'm getting the short end of the stick. The John Locke character is really intriguing (and very well acted).

That light that turned on in the metal bunker is an intriquing development.
I love the John Locke character. He has become my favorite.
Stunning tale last night about his mother and father.

Terry O'Quinn never disappoints. Loved him on Millennium.

I have watched this show all season and I am finding it much harder understand where they are going with the all the loose ends they have created. The first half of the season it was more about the survivors and life on the Island. However, now they seem to spend a lot of time on the flashbacks. It is almost like they didn't expect the series to work and now that it has a huge following they don't know where to go with it. I really hope I am wrong and in some amazing way the writers bring this all together for some big climax at the end of the season.

The flashbacks were always part of the show's concept, expanding the meaning of the show's title to more than just the situation the crash survivors share, but their live before they converged as well.

Stick with it, the show is definitely worthy. This and 24 are the best shows on TV IMO.
