I was at my local Guitar Center the other day looking at 24-bit soundcards (the Comp USA across the parking lot only carries SoundBlaster stuff). I saw two within my price range. The Echo MIA was about $200 and a Delta card (don't remember which model exactly) with a separate box that runs with a serial cable into the PC. This card was about $230. A little higher than I'd like to spend, but if it's worth it, I'll get it.

Any thoughts on either of these cards? I have decided to skip the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 because of the lack of recording volume adjustment. At the present time, I don't have a separate preamp, so it will be more trouble than it is worth.

Bob, I have the Echo GINA, which is very simliar to the MIA, just has a few more features. I LOVE the GINA. Great Sound, no problems.

I'd go with the MIA, if it were me. Echo has a great rep in the biz.

Hope this helps.
