Carl Perkins & Friends DVD

I recently watched this DVD of the old Cinemax special. I enjoyed it very much but I was thinking John Hiatt performed on this originally...he ain't in the DVD.As a matter of fact he did "Memphis in the Meantime" and Carl was beaming from ear to ear...if I remember correctly.

Anybody remember this when it aired on tv...wasn't Hiatt on it? Am I getting confused with another program? Wonder why Hiatt wouldn't be on the DVD version?

I don't know when Hiatt wrote Memphis in the Meantime, but it wasn't released until 1987 and Carl-Aid was 1985 (I think).

Hiatt wasn't on the original special. I have an old tape of the original broadcast, it's indentical to the version on the DVD.

Perhaps there was a later Perkins appearance with Hiatt, did they do something for PBS later on?

The original special was in '85 and MITM didn't come out til '87 so my mistake.
I wish I could remember what it was I saw them both together on.Could have possibly been a PBS thing...hmm.
Carl shoud've done his own version of MITM...goes perfect with him.

Carl did record the song, it's on the soundtrack CD to 200 Cadillacs.

I think Rosanne Cash is on this DVD. Anything with her is great.
