Whats next, the female Odd Couple?
They did that, on Broadway, 1985. Sally Struthers and Rita Moreno. Rewritten by Neil Simon. They played a weekly Trivial Pursuit game, instead of poker.

Man that preview bugs me. The line Norton has about Alice when they're hanging off the balcony....just horrible horrible...
The preview almost makes Ralph and Ed seem pathetic.....pretending to be blind....
I mean, they always needed money but at least in the originals they didn't seem as devious.

they weren't...they were creative, had respect, love, kindness, empathy, comedy, drama...You loved the characters...I can still watch 'em and LAUGH at the same funny parts...

That's it. You nailed it. Even though Ralph was a loudmouth he had respect and dignity...he would never ask a woman for the 10 dollars she owed him when they paid dutch on a date.
He would however, try to get the 10 bucks through some other scheme...

...Poor Ralph, Jackie must be turning!:laugh:We know the real Ralph...but will the future?! :help:

My only problem with it is why call it the Honeymooners? It's your typical sitcom-ish comedy from a WB stand point. Some of the gags look like they could be funny (at least a good giggle or two) but not in the name of the Ralph and Norton.
Why they had to name the characters from the classic 50's TV comedy makes no sense. Fans of that 50's comedy will not be in a rush to see this movie. Most of the people who see this movie probably have never seen The Honeymooners anyway.
Bizzare!

I wonder who owns the rights? I bet whoever it is wouldn't be seen in public after allowing this horse **** to be made. Good God!
I thought there was going to be a version with Nathan Lane or at least a (proper) Gleason bio pic....

Ditto. Hopefully this movie will die a painful death at the box office and on DVD. Unless you can somehow resurrect Gleason and Carney, it aint The Honeymooners.
Too many remakes - Hollywood needs an enema!!

I'm just mad they're messing with sacred comedic ground, not the fact it's two black guys.
Peace,
