Howard Rumsey And The Lighthouse All Stars "Music For Lighthouse Keeping". Great 1956 stereo...

BTW, "Some Like It Hot" by Barney Kessel also features Art Pepper, and some of the best rhythm guitar (Jack Marshall) work I've ever heard!

Hey Grant , I was referring to "Contemporary Records" company that was bought by Fantasy records. 50's, 60's Jazz.

I've always love Rob McConnell and the Boss Brass from Canada. I must say, however, as you can read in another thread-- I think I have found my new favorite Big Band!!

My favorite albums on the original Fantasy label (not the entire catalog that now includes Prestige, Debut, etc.) are the Village Vanguard recordings by the Bill Evans Trio (w/Scott LaFaro and Paul Motian). Just beautiful music, the sort of music I like to listen to at 3 in the morning with the lights off.

Were these issued on Contemporary? I listen to the K2 remastered CD (besides the OJC CD issue, it's all I've ever had).
