What do you think the plot of LOST (maybe that stands for something?) is about? Are these people supposed to be alive?......dead?....maybe in some kind of limbo where they have to prove themselves to keep on living?
What is your theory?
I don't know but it would be a lot better without the hand held camera work.

Locke seems to understand, and he's not telling. I wonder if he's got some special control over the situation.

Remember that Locke is the only one who has seen the mysterious creature that ate the pilot in the pilot episode, and so far, he hasn't been inclined to say what he saw. Not only that, the writers haven't explained how he survived the encounter, much less how he is able to walk after spending years in a wheelchair. I just hope the series lasts long enough to answer some of the questions posed so far. The writers will also need to be careful not to take us down the "Twin Peaks" path, where they stretch things out so long without resolving anything that the viewer loses interest.

My wife was telling me she read an article that the survivors were likely in a "purgatory" like place after the crash and were all dead. Lost between worlds? I am having a hard time understanding where all this could be going, especially if the show survives the first season. Lost has very good ratings right now, so hopefully they have a good plan.
There was a syndicated show called "Amazon" that was about a plane crash several years ago and the survivors had to make their way through the jungles and the tribes of the Amazon. It was pretty interesting TV, but it had the same issues of Lost and was cancelled after the first season leaving many things unanswered.

Before the show premiered, I thought it was going to be a straightforward drama about a bunch of plane crash survivors, kind of like a serious Gilligan's Island in the Amazon or something. What turned me off was them making it into some si-fi thriller with unseen monsters. The idea would have worked for a movie, but not a TV series.

I wouldn't jump to too many conclusions Grant. I think we have to see where the thing is going. At least it's not one of those "blow somethin' up in every scene" deals. It's starting to resemble one of those puzzle video games....interesting.

As originally conceived, this show was supposed to have a high body count, starting with the good doctor in the pilot episode. It looks like, so far, they've decided to go another direction, as pretty much the entire cast has continued to survive to date (I assume the pregnant girl is still somewhere on the island with Tom Cruise's cousin).

Too late for me.

It does work, in my opinion. I haven't been this hooked to a TV show since, ahem, Twin Peaks.
The only thing that bothers me is the way they'll drop storylines from week to week. Like Claire is barely mentioned anymore. You would think people would be out looking for a kidnapped woman about to give birth. :)

Actually, it's working very well for a tv series. So much so that it's given Alias a great lead-in and helped that show's ratings.

We have to do a bit of button dancing (with the planned :realmad: runover times for Lost) as we are WW watchers.

exactly how i feel, they better start giving the viewers a few answers, or they are going to start losing fans. it is starting to get complicated, and many story lines are left in limbo and never returned to.
you would think all 45 other remaining survivors would be looking for the pregnant girl, but no, they are planting gardens, getting drugged, fishing, and looking for the way into an unopenable hatch.
time for some answers......soon.

Locke and Boone have been telling the others that they are spending all day looking for the pregnant girl and hunting boars while, in fact, they have been screwing around with the unopenable hatch (and, in Locke's case, trying to get Boone to face up to his feelings about his stepsister). By the end of last night's episode, however, it is becoming clear that some of the other survivors are beginning to suspect that Locke may be fibbing (though their skepticism seems to be motivated more by the lack of fresh pork than concern about the pregnant girl).

Well, for me, it isn't working as a TV show. It failed to keep me hooked.

...I felt they were all dead...possibly confirmed when Locke was out of the wheel chair and walking.:) Who know? They can change the outcome with each show...many things are still not answered...the plot is all over the place!
