That means if you want to hear multi-channel recordings, you have to have inputs on your amplifier or receiver for left, right, center, left rear, right rear, and subwoofer. (And of course all those speakers.)

If you're okay with stereo, you can run your SACD player into a regular stereo amp or receiver.
