Just watched the first 30 minutes on this one, and this is sure a superb DVD - both the picture and the DTS mix are amazing. So are performances (with a possible exception of Alan White - he kinda lacks energy on this one). But Mr.Anderson's behaviour - OMG! I mean the incredibly funny way he speaks and waves his hands between the songs. This is probably the most hilarious stage behaviour I ever seen! The guy sure leaves Spinal Tap far, far behind!
As much as I like Yes (and I own most of their albums) I never happened to watch any of their shows on video. So this Amsterdam concert is my first one. And the question is: does Jon always behaves THAT way on stage or did he simply stoped at a local coffee shop on his way to the show to smoke a couple of (absolutely legal) joints? :D

I have seen Yes 4 or 5 times over the years and Jon Anderson is always "mystical".

Last year at the Garden, Jon brought his guru on stage to give us all a blessing. Man, I thought the crowd would turn ugly (has happened many times here in NYC) but the crowd went along with it and we all chanted away the night! :D

That's Jon. :agree: Doesn't he still sound great, though? :righton:

I have seen Yes many times back in their glory days, but I must say the most fun tour was the"Going for the One" excursion. Wakeman had just rejoined the band and Anderson had come up with his most "down to earth" lyrics ever ("so hard to find in my cosmic mind"). They performed "in the round" with a slowy rotating stage. The band had such energy and you could just feel the fun and mirth eminating from them. Rolling Stone gave the Lp a rave review, they were selling more Lp's than ever, and the future seemed so bright...

I sure miss those art rock days...

I saw Yes in the round at Madison Square Garden. What a great show. I saw them recently at the Office Depot Center in Fort Lauderdale and it was horrible. The place was empty. The arena was dead. I am glad I got to see them a number of times in the late '70's.

That is hard to hear. I have seen Yes almost every tour since Drama in 1980. (Yes, my first time seeing Yes was the only tour without Jon, but Trevor Horn was excellent). All of the shows I've seen have been or almost been sold out. I didn't get to see the most recent tour in 2004, but would've liked to. I always enjoy hearing them live.

Yes, Jon has always been 'mystical' on stage since I've seen him. The most outrageous I remember was during the Big Generator tour during the song 'Holy Lamb'. Last year at the Garden sounds even more out there though!

I've seen Yes quite a few times these past few years (I've been on a Yes kick lately....love their past two albums).

I saw them at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark (opening act was Porcupine Tree!!:D) and the place was sold-out. They sounded great.

Then last year at MSG, again sold-out and fantastic.
