I have two Mullard 12au7 small signal tubes waiting to go into my pre when I move and set up next month. Need a Mullard 12AT7 also.
Any suggestions as to where I could obtain a quality genuine Mullard 12AT7 with some sort of guarantee?
tnx

eBay. See if you can find someone with an eBay who's tested the tubes.
Mullards, and hell, even 12AU7s and 12AT7's I've never seen go south. Concider that a guarantee.
RCA 12AT7's are also just as good! :)

Have a set of Mullards but the 12AT7 DID crap out. Have used lots of tubes and these Mullards DO sound appreciably better otherwise I would'nt bother trying to restore the set.

Mullard CV4024/12AT7 is a very nice tube - smooth with very good detail. Definitely not edgy as some 12AT7 tubes can be. Still relatively easy to source, too. I'm definitely a Mullard fan of the 12AU7 & 12AT7 tubes. A new Wavac amp coming using 12AX7 input so i'll be experienting with those soon.

Any thoughts on the CV 4004? I'm using them for output tubes on my power amps, and they definitely extended on the top. I may try the 12AX7, or a Telefunken for a change.
